International freshman students and current international students

Application and Time
  • New Students: Online enrollment application system (https://enroll.ntue.edu.tw/foreign), please choose “yes” at the scholarship field. The result will inform you of your Letter of Admission.
  • Current Students: By the end of April each year, please take the Scholarship Application Form and the Transcript of the Previous Semester, and a Photocopy of Current Student ID Card to apply for the scholarship at the Division of International Affairs. (Office Location: A709 Room, Administration Building)
Amount

NTD$6,000 to 8,000 per month

Award Period

September (the month that you begin your semester) to next year August.

Approval and Issue
  • The maximum length of time a student is entitled to receive the scholarship is 4 academic years for undergraduate students, 2 academic years for students in master programs, and 4 academic years for students in doctoral programs.
  • The awarded students must take part in the university voluntary service for at least 72 hours in Departments or School Administrative Units, the ones who fail to meet the requirements of the voluntary service will be ineligible to apply for future scholarship.
Quota of Scholarship

The number of recipients for each year is subject to the availability of scholarship funds for the year.

The Outstanding Freshmen Scholarship
(NTUE Excellent New Student Scholarship)

This scholarship is awarded to first-year students and provides a full tuition fee reimbursement. It is granted per semester, starting from the first semester, for a maximum of four semesters (2 years). To maintain the scholarship, awardees must meet the eligibility criteria each semester by remaining in the top three students.

MOE / MOFA Taiwan Government Scholarship

-Ministry of Education (MOE)-

The Ministry of Education (abbreviated below to “MOE”) has formulated the Taiwan Scholarship Program Directions (also known as the “Taiwan Scholarship Program Guidelines”) to encourage outstanding international students (with the exception of students from the Mainland Area, Hong Kong, and Macau) to undertake degree studies in Taiwan to familiarize themselves with the academic environment in Taiwan and promote communication, understanding, and friendship between Taiwan and the international community.

-Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA)-

Countries that have diplomatic relations with Taiwan, or have been recognized as friendly relations with Taiwan by MOFA. The Scholarship is, in principle, granted to students from countries that have diplomatic relations with Taiwan. However, special consideration may also be given to students from other countries.
